Moro!
It has been a well busy and fast lane at Muurle Volleyball club the past months.
After the last point yesterday, I could see the "really" disappointed faces and eyes. It was not a surprise to see those faces and eyes because we worked very very hard this season.
I also saw very few lesser disappointed eyes, instead more relieved and ready to move to next plan B eyes.
We were missing this full 6 players unity at the crucial times in yesterday's game. I could see the pressure building on a couple of players not able to change the gears properly to add the crucial 2-3 points to secure the 2nd victory.
I call it too little too late!! But a lot can be learnt from Muurle's side!
On tueday, it worked better/well as we were not too much underpressure from the opponent.
We had our chances in Muurame's first two games in playoffs at home and did not take them.
In yesterday's game, we needed to control the game which we did not do at the end of sets!
Finally, Jarmo and Jaakko have been both inspirational to me as a head coach at Muurle. They are loyal and fair to all. That is my ways and I was happy to have worked with them. I am proud of what all the finnish players achieved especially when none of them except Jarmo Korhonen has won "player of the month" award. That is called teamwork. They are good at it and I was pleased to see their commitment.
With a mixture of 3-4 working players, 4-5 students players and 2/3 fulltime "pros", we were able to produce some good volleyball for this league level. It dd not take much more to go to the top.
But it has been a great sporting staff work including my first assistant Juhana Autio who monitored a lot of logistics around me,
Tatu,
Johannes (Statistician)
and
the Omni present Tapani "Tapsa" who was my shadow all season to assist me/ and players needs at EVERY training session.
280+ sessions of volleyball trainings with workouts for a half pro league like in Finland is a good amount over the past 8 months for success. And Tapsa missed only one practice and was late once!
That is called REAL dedication and loyalty as volunteers/part timers!
I appreciate it a lot still.
